Cotswolds Birthday Rides 2-9 Aug 2008

The National Fire Service College, at Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, is the world's largest fire training venue.
Providing outstanding facilities, CTC will be the first organisation to have use of this delightful 550-acre private estate which boasts bars, lounges, restaurants, a swimming pool, sports hall, squash courts and bowling alley.

Every day there will be A, B, C, off road and family rides on routes arranged by local CTC members knowledgeable about quiet lanes and special places.
Riders will discover secret, honey-coloured Cotswold stone villages and hamlets while they explore Saxon churches, lavender fields, falconry and arboretum attractions and a rare breeds farm park. Enjoy the delights of Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Chipping Campden and Shipston on Stour.
Meanwhile mile-eaters will have a choice of Audax events to the Vale of Evesham, the Marlborough Downs and the Malvern hills. Juniors can take part in the Mini Touring Competition with cyclo cross, Audax challenges, treasure hunts, map reading and more. Or join in the BCQ event.

Evening socials include films, a ceilidh, visits to the local Hook Norton Brewery, quiz nights or you can simply relax and enjoy the two bars and talk over the day’s adventures.
There is a swimming pool, games for the U16s, dedicated childrens play area and evening adult only social rides to local hostelries. And of course, there’s the famous CTC Birthday Tea when riders gather in celebration of the club’s 130th birthday. For a break from cycling you could visit Shakespeare’s Stratford on Avon, Blenheim Palace, Oxford’s dreaming spires, historic Tewkesbury or Cheltenham by CTC arranged coach or public transport.
