ferry from Portsmouth, returning by Bike Bus from Montpellier.
Rural route: Normandy, Loire, Limousin, Auvergne, Languedoc. WW2
sites, châteaux, mediaeval towns, spectacular lakes and gorges.
Family hotels. Suitable for moderately fit cyclists, most ages.
Moderate pace, 45-100kmpd (average 70). |
The tour takes place annually. In 2009 it was very similar to the
original route, with 15 days cycling (of which 4 are half days),
via the Jonte Gorges and the Cevennes and visiting the Abime de
Bramabiau and Cirque de Navacelles. | |
